About

I'm an online creator and musician from Poland. I've been on YouTube since 2021 as ThatSun — that's also my music alias. In January 2022 my second channel launched as Fomalhaut, later renamed to ThatSunPL.

In the early years I focused mostly on content related to the Canadian label Monstercat — fan edits of their tracks (reversed, slowed, nightcore versions), occasionally NoCopyrightSounds songs, plus the odd game clip and meme. But ever since I was a kid I dreamed of becoming a gaming YouTuber.

In 2025 I decided to reshape the channel: Monstercat and NCS edits moved to the background (they now live only as YT Shorts), and the main focus shifted to games. I record gameplays from all kinds of titles — old and new, nostalgic and underground, PC and mobile. One of my big goals is to build a huge library of old browser games on the channel — they're the dominant theme here. I'm planning gameplays of several hundred browser games I played as a kid. It's a bit of a public gaming diary, too.

Feel free to subscribe, drop a comment, and stick around. If you enjoy something less obvious and a bit experimental, check out my music channel too — I work across many genres.

While you're here, take a look around: Game list shows everything I've already covered, My music has more details about my tracks, and Records gathers my key results and achievements. I'll keep all of it updated.

History

A year-by-year log of how the channel has evolved. Click a year to expand.

Q1 2022 — Jan–Mar

The first video on the channel, "Sky Safari App Music - Pluto", went up on January 15, 2022. I uploaded it and just left it there to see what would happen. Views grew slowly — a dozen or so in January, a few dozen by February. A month later, on February 16, 2022, I started uploading mashups from Monstercat Uncaged Vol. 11, Instinct Vol. 7, and Best Of 2021. Those uploads continued into March.

Later in March, two more astronomy app soundtracks appeared: "SkyView" (March 17) and "Star Walk 2" (March 27). The Star Walk 2 one performed best of the three. The original plan for the channel was to upload full albums from artists on Monstercat. The first of those went up on March 31, 2022 — MUZZ's full album "The X Saga".

Q2 2022 — Apr–Jun

In April 2022 the channel crossed a thousand monthly views for the first time (3.3K), mostly thanks to The X Saga, which was the best-performing video so far. That month I also started making reversed versions of Monstercat tracks. The first two were by Bad Computer — "Just Dance" and "Paradise" — released in April, and on May 10, 2022 I posted the reversed version of Tristam & Braken's "Flight".

May 10 was also the day the video that really pushed the channel forward went live: "Where U Are Deluxe" — a Throttle album upload I hadn't originally planned, since it was a Deluxe version of an EP. I came up with the idea of stitching the original EP together with the Deluxe edition into one practical album. It overtook The X Saga in views within a few days and became massively popular. Through May and June it pulled roughly 1,000 views a day.

Across late May and June I kept releasing reversed videos and a few new mashups from COTW 400. On June 27, 2022 the channel hit 100 subscribers.

Q3 2022 — Jul–Sep

The summer brought heavy traffic. In June 2022 the channel had a record 39K views, with Where U Are Deluxe leading by far. Daily views over the summer hovered around 800–1,200. I started following a small schedule with two main series: Reversed Monstercat Songs (mostly older label tracks) and Monstercat Slowed Down (the newest ones). Results varied from video to video.

Full EP uploads continued too. On July 26, 2022 I posted Bossfight's full EP "Agony District", and on August 4 came Koven's "Higher Ground Part 1". Neither matched Where U Are, but both still pulled over a thousand views out of the gate.

The astronomy soundtracks I had uploaded months earlier also started climbing over the summer. They settled into a few hundred monthly views each and stayed remarkably stable — for several years afterwards none of the three dropped below 150 monthly views.

August set a new record of 44K views, and September topped it with 51K, driven by another album upload — "Infected Mushroom - IM25" on September 16, 2022. The channel reached 200 subscribers on August 25 and 250 on September 19.

Q4 2022 — Oct–Dec

The channel hit 300 subscribers on September 25, 2022, and just one day later set a single-day record of 3,600 views. Late September also brought my first Monstercat mashup — "Inertia x Evil Inside", posted on September 28. Around the same time the channel was renamed from Fomalhaut to ThatSun.

Through October, Where U Are Deluxe and IM25 gradually lost steam — they no longer dominated, and by early 2023 IM25's view count had blended into the rest of the channel.

Toward the end of the year I started experimenting more. Over the summer I'd already begun posting small NoCopyrightSounds mixes (which didn't take off), and on October 8 I uploaded the first NCS Slowed Down video. I was also planning gaming edits and shorts — the first one, "New Style In Ski Jumping", went up on November 10.

November and December were a bit quieter, though the SkyView video got a small bump of a few hundred views over three days in November. In December I unlocked the community tab, and on December 31, 2022 I published my first big ranking: "My Top 100 Monstercat Songs 2022".
